Why We’re Waiving Our Fees for Kashmir & Ladakh – A Letter from the Heart of Indian Travel

For us at Thrillophilia, Kashmir and Ladakh have never been just dots on a map—they've been the soul of our journey.

In 2010, we became the first Indian travel company to launch structured adventure activities in Ladakh. Back when the region was just beginning to be discovered, we were there—trekking the Zanskar trails, camping by Pangong Lake, and building relationships with local guides who’ve now become family.

Over the years, we did multiple initiatives in Ladakh like lighting up local villages using solar lanterns and setting up a computer lab in a local school.

In Kashmir, we’ve seen the valleys bloom, the tourism spirit rise, and the resilience of locals grow stronger with every challenge.

But today, both these regions are hurting.

Recent disturbances and uncertainty have led to a sharp drop in tourism—leaving thousands of small travel operators, drivers, hoteliers, and homestays in limbo. These are not just business partners to us—they are the backbone of India’s experiential travel movement.

What We're Doing:

From May to July 2025, Thrillophilia is committing:

  • 100% Waiver on Platform Fees for all new Kashmir bookings
  • 50% Waiver on Platform Fees for all new Ladakh bookings

This means more money goes directly into the hands of locals—with no commissions or deductions at our end.  You will also see many new experiences of these two destinations on our platform very soon, our team is working with suppliers in both regions to curate more authentic experiences and these will be featured across our platform.  We are doing a little of what our pocket permits, but together, we all can do a lot.

Why This Matters:

Over the years, Thrillophilia has been at the forefront of promoting domestic tourism.  We’ve made it cool to travel through India—whether it’s exploring Meghalaya’s living root bridges or desert biking in Jaisalmer. But Kashmir and Ladakh have always held a special place in our hearts.

We owe a lot to these destinations. And now, it’s time we give back.

What You Can Do:

  1. Book a Trip – Travel with intention. Your visit will help the local economy bounce back faster.
  2. Spread the Word – Tell your friends and family. Let’s bring tourism back, responsibly.
  3. Support Local Experiences – Choose authentic, community-based travel over large chain resorts. Every choice makes a difference.

In Closing:

This isn’t a marketing campaign. It’s a heartfelt initiative to stand with the communities that stood by us when we started with zero listings and a big dream.

So, if you’ve ever been moved by the stillness of Pangong or the poetry of a Kashmiri shikara ride, now’s your chance to give back.

Let’s not just explore India. Let’s heal it.
