We know some of you have questions about Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the status of your Ladakh adventure. We’ve tried to answer as many of these questions as possible below, and we’ll update this page regularly.

As you might be aware the newest addition to the COVID-19 affected areas in India comes from Ladakh which has also raised concerns for some of our travellers. We want to provide some advice and reassurance for anyone currently on an adventure with us or in the midst of planning one. Please scroll down this page to check out our stance and advice on the situation.  We at Thrillophilia are dedicated to the well-being  of our travellers and as a company your safety is paramount to us and we are very closely working with our local partners under this situation.

As of 9/3/2020 the update is:

There are two cases found in Leh city of the Union Territory of Ladakh, both the individuals who tested positive for the virus are Ladakhi locals and both of them have had a travel history to Iran. Both of the patients in Ladakh are admitted into SNM hospital and are kept under observation.

Although, a man has died after returning from Iran, the reason stated for the death is not the virus. Dr. Motip Dorjay, a health official in Leh, told news agency ANI, "He (the man) had a urinary tract infection due to which he died"

Tourism as of now in the UT of Ladakh remains active with all popular attractions in Ladakh staying open/operational as usual. All flight carriers are still operating their flights as usual.

Despite what the news may make it feel right now, COVID-19, just like SARS, Ebola and Zika before it, will abate – hopefully sooner than later. The situation is changing all the time, if we see that your current ongoing trip gets affected by COVID-19, know you are in good hands with our local guides and operators, and we’ll work with them to keep you up-to-date and towards your safety.

We understand that lot of questions will be running in your mind, and we have tried to answer many of them here -
